Gorgeous example of what made Hyalyn Pottery so collectible and such a great draw to many admired pottery artists in the mud century. Leslie Moody opened this pottery with his wife Frances. He was a native of Zanesville, Ohio and they opened Hyalyn in North Carolina bringing their vast experience from their work at great poyteries such as Abingdon and Rookwood. This piece definitely has that Rookwood elegance. It is thought that the design was probably created by Frances Moody herself in the 1950s. Such a rich mottled chocolate glaze. This vase in in absolutely original condition. It weighs 2.01 lbs and is 8.25 inches tall and 2 inches across the rim. Double boxed and shipped with care.
